Seely still finishes their furniture front to back, inside and out. Most manufactureres have abaondoned this practice. They take a more holistic approach, because they like the inside of the drawer to look as nice as the outside. Seely likes the back of a dresser to look finished too. Take a drawer all the way out and look inside. They have nothing to hide. They still use oil-based stains that they rub by hand. The topcoat of their finish protects their furniture from most household blunders wihout requiring annual maintenance.
