Many historians credit Thomas Sheraton with the invention of the dining room sideboard. Cabinetmakers who worked for the Virginia gentry in the early 1800s enlarged Sheraton’s original sideboard designs making what we now call a server.
The Virginia Server not only helps with the service of a generous meal but also stores prized bowls, vases, and candlesticks. Six legs support heavy loads, and adjustable shelves make room behind cabinet doors for tall and short items alike. Top gallery
