In the 19th century, pie safes were typified by trademark perforated-tin panels that provided ventilation for food storage as well as protection from flies and other insects. These perforations formed sharp indented edges on the outside of the
tin, which also discouraged crawling bugs from entering. Seely inverted the panels to make them safer, and they offer the option of copper instead of the traditional tin front. The Pie Safes are fitted with two adjustable shelves.
Handbuilt in Oak or Cherry.
