Henderson's Furniture believes in solid wood furniture. The furniture we sell is handcrafted to provide you with a piece of furniture you will want to pass down to your children. Most of the items are available in Oak, Pine, or Cherry to best suit your needs. Each wood has its own special graining and coloring. Below are some samples of each wood and information about their look and durability. Each individual company has their own finishes and names. Please refer to their collection for the choices that are available. We suggest that when you come to place an order you bring along a drawer or door of any existing items you are trying to match.

			Pine is a soft wood, which is blond in color, and often has dark knots. This can be stained to a show a very light blond , a reddish color, or all the way to a very dark brown color.
			Oak is a very durable hardwood. Most people think of oak as having a golden color . Oak can also be stained to a dark brown.
			Cherry is a beautiful hardwood that can vary considerably in appearance depending on the finish used. A light cherry finish highlights the grain and beauty of the wood and takes on a honey color.
			A darker cherry finish, which is more traditional, gives a more formal look, with a deep purple or mahogany color.
