Gat Creek furniture is built of solid black cherry from the Appalachian Mountains that surround our homes. These mountains, some of the oldest in the world, provide a unique combination of four seasons and moderate altitude
that help give their cherry its strength and graceful graining. They refuse to use veneering or any other man-made wood components in their furniture. They build the backs, bottoms, and other less visible parts of our furniture out of solid sugar
pine from the Pacific Northwest. Unlike Eastern and European pine, sugar pine had few knots, tight graining, and old-growth stability. |
